Who we are

Coloured Art Studio is a South Los Angeles–based arts education nonprofit dedicated to expanding equitable access to culturally responsive creative learning experiences for youth and families. Founded during the COVID-19 pandemic as a virtual art program supporting students through isolation and uncertainty, the organization has grown into a trusted community resource serving thousands of children across Greater Los Angeles through art classes, workshops, school partnerships, and community events.

Using an original curriculum that highlights Black and Brown artists while integrating social-emotional learning, Coloured Art Studio creates safe, affirming spaces where young people build creativity, confidence, self-expression, and connection through the arts. Our programs center representation, healing, and community—empowering students to see themselves reflected in creative education while developing artistic skills and emotional wellbeing.

Today, Coloured Art Studio continues to work toward its long-term vision of establishing a permanent community art studio and cultural hub where children, families, artists, and neighbors can gather to create, learn, and thrive together.
